Whatever you open here remains entirely yours. No licence to it is claimed, requested or implied, and none could be exercised in any case, because no copy of it ever reaches this site’s operator. You are responsible for having the right to alter the pictures you alter here, including any right held by a photographer, a subject or a rights holder, and for whatever you do with the result.

The tool is offered as it is, without a warranty of any kind, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. In particular, no guarantee is given that a colour replacement will be visually acceptable for a given picture, that a target colour will be reproduced within any stated tolerance on a given display or in print, or that the site will be available at any particular moment.

The operation’s real limits are described on the pages rather than disclaimed here. Output is sRGB; colours outside it are brought inside by reducing chroma. A region with no lightness range cannot be given a light colour. Selection is by pixel value, so two unrelated objects of the same colour are selected together. None of these are faults to be reported, and all of them are worth reading before a deadline rather than during one.

To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator of this site is not liable for any loss of data, loss of work, loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential damage arising from the use of this page. Keep the original of anything that matters. That is sound advice in general and it is the only recovery mechanism this site can offer, since it holds no copy of your work to restore from.

Do not use this page to alter pictures in a way that misrepresents a person, a product or an event in order to deceive, and do not use it in connection with unlawful material. Automated hammering of the site, interference with the advertising that is intended to pay for it once it runs, and redistribution of the page’s code as a competing service are all outside what is permitted.

These terms may be revised as the tool changes. The revision date below is the only notice given, since there is no account to notify and no mailing list to send to. Continuing to use the page after a revision is acceptance of it.
